NC Homegrounds - Flags Flying
The question I have is are you ready to see it stop raining? From the time I left Greensboro Friday until I arrived back in Greensboro Sunday it either drizzled or rained heavily. Of course the 25th Annual NCHOF was going on and some folks decided to sit the porch and I considered it also.
Three shoots this weekend with Durham County and Rockingham shooting Saturday and Rockingham has a BIG50 Sunday. I would imagine LCP has a BIG50 Wednesday like they do almost every Wednesday.

The HOF was a lot of fun for some and pretty dreary for others. Attendance was up but participation was down due to the dreary relentless rain. Saturday if you shot early you got the rain on the 1st 100 and the later squads missed the bulk of the rain. Steve Watson and Maryland shooter Richard Unruh knotted up with 197's with Steve Watson winning the shoot off. Dan Johnson shot on a squad all by himself and broke a solid 195 one bird at a time.
The banquet Saturday night to induct Terry Roush was well attended. Bob Keever officiated and Hunter Galloway and yours truly took care of Terry's induction. Terry's brother and his wife attended along with Jackie's sister and her husband. The food was good and the fellowship was even better. I took pictures of Terry's display and all that attended the festivities.
Sunday morning I benefited from devotional service that was presided over by the caterer Big Dave. There were six in attendance and I appreciate Billy Thigpen and Roger Bynum starting this during their years on the board. Of course the rain kept on coming down and the message was not about Noah.
The doubles were fun in low light and drizzle. Not sure how many shot but it had to be less than thirty shooters. Jeff Galloway started out like a house of fire but the second field worked us all over. Not sure who won the doubles and hopefully the official shoot report will be posted today.

Morgan Shaw Gets A Punch
Handicap cranked up and by the time I shot there were periods of no rain and no wind. Two 93's included Alabama shooter Dan Jones and old Morgan Shaw with Dan the winner and Morg the runner-up. That left David Miller and Dan Johnson with 92's and Steve Watson and Will Price with 90's. All those shot off and I am not sure who wound up 3-4-5? Randy Boone Jones and Tom Shelley were only 1 and two birds off from the shoot off.

Dan Johnson is the NCHOF HOA winner and Steve Watson is the Open runner-up winner. From Dan having to shoot by himself in the singles Saturday to his shooting glasses breaking and his contact splitting in half in his handicap shoot off Sunday........Dan got it done!
Hats off to everybody that helped put the shoot on and it takes a ton of work pull that event off. I know Mrs. Keever was a little under the weather and she still hung in there. Ken Duncan was also under the weather and finally showed up Sunday to help Carolyn close up shop. That beings me to the news nobody likes to hear. Pete McCall died midweek and I will try to get the details and get them posted. Not sure of what was ailing him and he was one heck of a shooter.
I have pictures from Friday through Sunday and pix of the banquet to upload to the internet. I will post the links here at the bottom of the info so check back later in the week. I might be able to get them up sooner...
