July13th Smoke Report

Several folks traveling last week to Wisconsin, VA and PA. One shoot over the weekend in North Carolina and Rockingham County shoots this Saturday. Still hot and wet and I am looking forward to cooler shooting in the very near future.
It looks like some NC hotshots headed up to the Wisconsin State Shoot last week and tried their luck. Marty Hill, Darvin Cornett, Allan Davis and Greg High made the trip. I looked at www.shootscoreboard.com for a bit and hopefully they brought some cheese to NC. I do know Darvin broke a 100 straight in one singles event.
Isaac McCoy and Colton Fisher went to the WVA State Shoot last week and between VA and WVA shoot score reporting it is tough to find info. Hopefully Isaac will fill me in when I call him Monday. Last year Isaac broke his first 200 in singles and won the Non-Res HiGun singles honors at the WVA event.
Update.....Isaac McCoy placed NR RU in the championship doubles and got punched back to the 27 yard line. Colton didn't bring anything back but he has a year to get ready for WVA 2027...
I ventured to my annual Konne-Yaut Indian shoot at the Ruffsdale Gun Club established in 1895. The weather was warm and humid, and the rainstorm Friday was responsible for cancelling the handicap and doubles events. The weather cleared up but the traphouses were flooded. The trip up was dry for the most part but coming back on Sunday it got wet in West Virginia. We shoot at West Penn Sportsman in 2027.
Durham County shot Saturday and Scarlett Su sent me her info Sunday night and thanks. William Cash and Anthony Cox tied with 97’s, Ray Corona got a punch to the 21 with his 96 and he also tied with Mark Spoon for HOA with 276’s. Mark Spoon won the doubles with an 89 and looking forward to seeing him shoot this weekend at the Rockingham County Gun Club.
The Rockingham County Gun Club shoots this Saturday and the program is available at www.shootata.com Typical 300 target shoot (first of the year) and we will shoot extra handicap birds if 3 are available for each extra event. Weather looks like mid 90’s and minimal wind.
Ok that will do it for this week and looking forward to sleeping in my own bed since I have been out of town since Wednesday. Next road trip is the Grand in just a few weeks! Hello to Scott, Ronnie, Cowboy, Tim, Bobby, Phil, Mac, John, Art, Barron, Mark C, Mark S, Dan, John W, Jimmy D, SPY2, HGIII, Fish, Thea and Anne and until next week……smokem
