Another good crowd for the Big 50 this week with eight shooters competing. Conditions were sunny, high 70’s and of course windy. I’m not sure how, but as soon as 1 p.m. rolls around on Wednesday the winds know it’s time to crank it up and blow the targets at Low Country all over the place. The targets looked good with the exception of the ones blown off course by the wind. Top Gun this week was Pat Childers who finished with a 45. Larry Dudley and Frank Harris tied for runner up with a pair of 41’s. Mike Anselmo finished out the 40’s with a score of 40. Wayne Averill, Charley Bertrand, Mike Ciccolella and Harold Smith also competed with us.
Next week’s Big 50 may be a small affair with the South Carolina State Trap Shoot in Spartanburg, SC starting next Wednesday, May 11th and finishing on Sunday May 15th. Hope some of you can join us at the state shoot. They will throw 1,300 registered targets and they are repeating last year’s Handicap added money program, awarding $6,000 in added money in the handicap events.
It should be a lot of fun for all!
