Buckhorn 12/31/2017

Post by straightaway »

BRRRRRRRRRDAMMIT!

A larger crowd than was anticipated attended the last shoot of 2017 at Buckhorn on Sunday 12/31. The thermometer topped out a "brisk" 27 degrees. Bad part was the 15 mph winds that drove the windchill factor into the teens.

A herd of "Boonies" showed up and Randy Jones actually had pants on, he was asked several times about his shorts and his reply every
time was that he did have shorts on and volunteered to show anyone wanting to verify........he got no takers.....imagine that.....Also of note was that Tom Pitts had intentions of attending only he signed his "friend" out on "release" and changed his priorities.

The resident curmudgeon was on hand, courtesy of Ms. Jeri as he can't navigate the highways for a few more days. He appears to be healing well and is quite mobile already. His main complaint is that some of his medication has him "stopped up". He received several suggestions on how to gain relief but is reluctant to attempt any of the recommended remedies.......hmmmmmm.

The Millers were on hand and were accompanied by Karole's lovely Mother. She also brought what had to have been a minimal number of delicious LOOKING cupcakes. I can't verify if they were any good or not as I DIDN"T GET ONE!!!!

A good contingent of the Faithful took on the loading, scoring, clean up duties that go along with and of course the squadding, score entry and cashiering demands that are always done in real time to satisfy all concerned.

Jeri fixed spaghetti for lunch that hit the spot exactly right when you come in out of the cold and warm your belly with a good meal!

Of interest was that James has Jeri's Kolar for sale. Both Brian Kellner and Morgan Shaw showed interest in it as Morgan took it for a test drive after the program was completed for the day. Brian's Dad was heard, repeatedly, telling Brian to put that thing down and get away from it. Now, I have personal knowledge that that particular gun will break some big scores. Whoever ends up with it will have a good shooter in their hands.
