October 17th Smoke Report

Post by smokem »

I hope you had a chance to take a look at that full moon last night. With the North Carolina mountains about 2 weeks away from the peak season it is a great time to shoot targets in the TarHeel State. One shoot over the weekend and I would imagine I will get a shoot report from OH@RM very soon.

Two shoots this week with LCP’s weekly BIG50 Wednesday and “The Famous Chicken Wing Fling” this Saturday at the Watauga Gun Club. Tom Pitts posted the program and we need now is good weather, a bunch of shooters and Pop Waters on the grill. Weather is looking cool with a high of 52 and winds NW@11 MPH……

Last year David Miller sat everybody down with a 96 in singles, won the caps with a 92 and won “C” Class with a 97 after Deadeye Dan Johnson broke a 99 to win the doubles. Davids 285x300 was two better than Deadeye and 3 better than the Phenom Steve Watson and SuperX Morgan Shaw. Who will be the King On The Mountain this weekend…..My money is on Johnson……..he has been plotting and planning for a year.

Here are some Wing Fling Slideshows from days gone by.

Some of you have heard that the Polk County Gun Club is back up and running and will register its first registered shoot October 29th. I have posted a little write up and pictures from the club. They are under NC Trap Club Info and if you need directions please got to http://www.nctrap.com

I have posted a list of rifles that are being sold by Rockingham Gun Club Ray Shisler. He is slowly preparing to move to Georgia and has been trying to sell his trap stuff and now his rifles. There is a BT99 listed and I will promise you that all of these guns are in immaculate condition. I am purchasing the M1 and though not confirmed it is still on the list.

That is going to do it for this week and it looks like a warm week in the Piedmont. Please continue to pray for the families in Eastern North Carolina that are dealing with the water damage from hurricane Matthew.

Take care everybody and hello to Hap in Mesquite Nevada, Lou, Scott and Chase and until next week ……………………………Smokem
