March 5th Smoke Report

Post by smokem »

March is here and not too bad of a weather weekend to get out and shoot. This time last year Coharie had their first shoot of 2017. One shoot report from LCP last week and thanks to Pat Childers for all of his efforts to promote trapshooting. Not much happening this week and here is the link to the NCTA shoot calendar - http://nctrap.com/shoots2017.pdf

Word on the street is that Tom Shelley, Tom Pitts and Pop Waters traveled to Spartanburg to shoot Saturday the 3rd. I also hear tell that Shelley put a whoopin on Pitts and Shelley hasn’t shot trap since the Dixie Grand in October. I checked out the Spartanburg Gun Club website to find some scores and the shoot scores have not been posted yet. Here is the link to the scores and hopefully they will be posted soon - http://www.spartanburggunclub.com/scores/

The 38th Annual Southern Grand starts the 12th and runs through the 18th of March. Not sure how many North Carolina trap shooters will attend but we sure will be looking for them on the leaderboard. I have included the link to the Silver Dollar Gun Club - http://silverdollartrap.com/?sfw=pass1520210772
I have also included the link to the calendar that shows the Dollar will be hosting three shoots back to back to back in the month of March. Here is the link to the Silver Dollar calendar -

I have also included the link to the program for the Southern Grand and I sure wish I was attending this year. Back when JBird was kicking around we got to attend the Dixie and the Southern Grand several years and we had a blast. Here is the link to the program - http://silverdollartrap.com/wp-content/ ... nd-WEB.pdf

Clinic update and the Harlan Campbell clinic is FULL and the Nora Ross clinic in Charlotte has “1” spot open. Polk County is also hosting a Nora Ross clinic, but I have no info on the exact dates and what their status is. I will try to find out more info and get it posted ASAP. I noticed a thread on trapshooters.com talking about clinics and the different teachers and it is an interesting read for sure.

Continue to remember Jan Schultz, JT Brewer, Lewis Wyatt and Steve Karas called me to inform me that all of these folks are on his prayer wall out in Tucson Arizona.

Ok that should do it for the first smoke report of March. The warm weather is just around the corner and folks will be out shooting a lot more real soon. Have a great week everybody and hello to Lou, Hap, Scott and Cousin Ronnie and until next week…………………………………Smokem
