April 8th Smoke Report

Post by smokem »

Greetings and hope you had a great week. Weather has been ok with a threat of severe weather later Monday afternoon. Other than that, the NCTA shoot calendar is full of shoots and a few this week upcoming. Here is the link to the NCTA shoot calendar and good luck to all - http://nctrap.com/shoots2017.pdf

Prayer list includes Jan Schultz, Carolyn Keever, Bob Goodman and Lewis Wyatt. Bob Schultz posted on Facebook that Jan was doing better, and her tumor has not grown in size since September. They are still in a battle and appreciate everyone’s prayers.

Some South Carolina news with Gary Olson being inducted into the SC Hall Of Fame and Jim Faber shooting at and breaking his 100,000th handicap target. Bob Schultz was nice enough to post a few pix of his induction on Saturday on Facebook. It won’t be long until the South Carolina State Shoot in May and it will be here before you know it.

Tom Pitts had a birthday last week and he has inherited a big responsibility at the NC Homegrounds helping run the shoot program software 3S. He was one of the first to run the software at Watauga and does a wonderful job. I hope he enjoyed his birthday and wishing him many more.

Steve Karas called me a week or so back to let me know he was back in North Carolina. He shot in NC at the local clubs and usually shot a Beretta Auto and was a 27 yard shooter. He suffered a stroke a few years back and really wanted to get back to shooting in the worst way. He moved to Arizona to help with the grandkids and not sure what got him back to High Point. I hope to get him up to the Rock to see the fellows and I know he will enjoy it.

It looks like the NC AIM kids will be sporting some new leather hardware at the NC State Shoot. AIM Prez Jason Dancy got a big box of leather goods from Shamrock Leather and the leather trophies look great. Nothing like the smell of a leather bag from Shamrock.

NC Hall Of Fame is the 25th – 28th of April and I pray the weather is great. This is the only time to shoot at the Homegrounds before the NC State Shoot. If you have never been to the NC Homegrounds and never used ERADS you might want to get up there and check it out. I hear tell the Old Hickory Club will be serving their famous BBQ with all the fixings Saturday night. That is worth the trip to the HOF right there. OK folks that is about it for this week and I hope everyone has a great Monday. Warmer weather and pollen are here, and trapshooting is ramping up for 2019. Hello to Lou, Scott, Ronnie, Lewis and Anne and until next week……………………….smokem……
