November 13th Smoke Report

Post by smokem »

Great weather weekend in North Carolina and several shoots with reports. CCLEOA shot Friday and Buckhorn hosted their annual Toys 4 Tots shoot on Sunday. Big shout out to all of our Vets and the sacrifice they made to keep us all free we thank you!

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, the shoot schedule will be a little thin. Shoots will be held in VA and SC, and we will try to keep you up with those shoots.

CCLEOA shot Friday and Robert Poniatowski led all singles shooters with a 48. Billy Soper won the handicap with a 47, doubles with a 45 and the HOA with a 135. The next BIG50 at CCLEOA will be on December the 1st.

The Buckhorn Gun Club held their annual Toys 4 Tots shoot Sunday, and it was well attended. 30,27,25 stepped to the line for singles, handicap and doubles. Chris Powell led all singles shooters with a solid 96, Jeffrey James won the handicap with an 89 and Mark Cox won the doubles with a 96 and the HOA with a 271x300.

We experienced some issues Sunday night and could not post the report. Thanks to the web admin we are back up and running and late. However, some big news broke early in the week and here it is.

Most of you have already read that the South Carolina State Shoot will be held at the NC Homegrounds in Bostic April 17-21. That is correct and that is normally the date for the former Dogwood/Hall of Fame shoot at the HG. The NCHOF will be held simultaneously with the SC State Shoot and will be based on the 200 singles on Saturday and the doubles and handicap on Sunday. Also, the shoot is now 5 days and not four like the typical NCHOF shoot. It should be interesting and hopefully bring a lot of folks to the event.

Marty Hill, Greg High and the Cornetts traveled to Tucson AZ for the Autumn Satellite Grand. Looks like they had a good time and Richard Marshall Jr. won the doubles with the lone 100, high caps with a 96 and the HOA and HAA.

That is about it for this week, and I hope everyone has a great week leading up to Thanksgiving. Hello to Scott, Ronnie, Cowboy, Tim, Bobby, Phil, Mac, Thea and Anne and until next week…………………smokem
