Nice weather weekend in North Carolina with only one trapshooting event in the state. We are at the end of the target year and very soon birds will be showing up for 2025. If you have not updated your ATA membership you might want to get that done. Also, consider purchasing a life membership that might be cheaper in the long run.
The Glenn Miller Memorial trapshoot took place over the weekend. They had a great weather, and I have no shoot report at this time. Hopefully Morgan Shaw will share that with the masses, and we will get it published sometime soon. They had a Low Country boil, and I did see a picture of that food and it looked great. Update – Morg said they had 37 shooters over the two days and Sean Reese was HOA (561) and BIGD (547) Tollison was RU for the 600 targets. Morg also commented that Greg Robinson broke a 100 straight then followed it up with a 97 Sunday.
The Buckhorn Gun Club will host a two-day shoot this weekend. August 31 & September 1st to start off the new target year. Weather looks warm with 50% chance of thunderstorms but when is the weatherman correct. Always have a good time at BGC and a great lunch.
The Dixie Grand is just a few weeks away and you can sign up at www.presquad.com It looks like the squads are filling up fast and not sure if they will limit the number of squads on Saturday or not. I hope the weather turns out great for the event and that always helps with attendance. Even if you don’t plan to shoot come on up and witness some of the best shooters in the country compete.
That is going to do it for this week. Hello to Scott, Ronnie, Cowboy, Tim, Bobby, Phil, Mack, John, Mark, Will, Thea and Anne and until next week…….smokem
