Here we are in the last week of September and 86 degrees on Sunday. I would imagine the cooler temps will arrive soon enough. Not much going on over the weekend in North Carolina but NC shooters shot in Tennessee and Missouri.
13 North Carolina shooters made it to Hog Heaven for their 4-day Fall Festival shoot. Watauga Gun Club Keith Forbes broke 100 straight from the 22-yard line in the Saturday handicap and the next closest score was a 93. They have not posted the event winners, and I am sure others brought a few trophies home including Shawn Reese.
I looked at the Missouri Fall Handicap shoot, and we had one NC shooter in attendance and maybe some of you know Vaughn Klowsowski? Hopefully he will show up at the Dixie Grand in just a few days.
The Dixie Grand at the NC Homegrounds starts in just a few days. Early look at the weather and it looks wet unfortunately and that is just something that must be dealt with and endured. Temps will be in the mid 70’s so it won’t be freezing but with the wind it could be chilly. NCTA president Marty Hill has classified 295 entries and that could be quite a crowd at the Homegrounds.
Not much else to tell and I hope to see some of you at the Dixie Grand. I plan on shooting Thursday – Sunday but if it is pouring down rain I might be in the clubhouse or trying to take pictures.
