COHARIE SCORES 9-12-09:
The weather was great and Ann’s food delicious. We had a small crowd and appreciate all the shooters who helped score and load houses. Al Williams had one of those “in the groove” days winning his first ever singles event and also topping handicap. Unfortunately there were not enough shooters to give him a punch. He just missed the automatic punch by 2 birds. As many of you know, Al is shooting Steve Edwards Perazzi and even Steve’s prized Federal shells. I know my friend, Steve, was smiling down on Al yesterday for his superb shooting. We had 2 Sub Jr shooters join us yesterday. Joshua Daugherty shoot his second time at Coharie and bettered his previous singles score by 10 birds. Chase Reese shot his first ever trap and broke 48 at singles and 42 at handicap. These young men were polite, well grounded in safety and accompanied by supportive parents. If you see them at a shoot, welcome them and their parents and encourage their continued participation.
