Watauga Gun Club Scores & Video For 5/27/2012

The Watauga Gun Club held a registered shoot Saturday the 26ht of May. The weather was great with very little wind all day and we had some clouds moving in later in the day. It is always fun going to Boone and they serve some great lunches also believe me!.
John Waters posted a strong 99 to win the singles, Jim Jacobs put up a 94 from the 19 for the caps win and George Sudderth won the doubles with a 92. John Waters had a great day and won the HOA with 99+93+91 for 283 x 300 total.
We had 5 shooters from the Rockingham GC attend and they included father and son Matt And Collin O'Bryant, Walter "Winky" Mabe, Lane Murray, JC Nunn and yours truly. This was Matt's and Collin's first shoot at Watauga and it was the first time for Collin to register trap targets! They both shot well and we are happy they made the trip up the hill. Now if we can just get some of the Cartel to the Rock?
I shot singles with Lane, Faizi Durland, JC and George Sudderth. JC Was showing George some serious smoke from the AL2 with that1 1/8 Green Dot "Elmo" load. JC was erasing targets from the air and it was a site to be seen! JC didn't shoot that well in the singles but he came back strong in the caps with a 90 and hit the Lewis for 40 bucks!
Tom Shelley and Tom Pitts knotted up in the singles and caps and Shelley had Pitts by 5 birds heading into the dubs. That my friend is when the wheel ran off of the Shelley train - woot woot! I got to ref their second 50 in the dubs and Pitts channeled in some Harlan Campbell push enabling him to crush that second target. After the 1st fifty Shelley lost that 5 bird advantage and was down one going into the second 50. Pitts called for take out pizza, got it delevered and shut the door on Shelley before he got on the porch! Pitts wound up 8 birds the better after the smoke cleared and Shelley will not hear the end of it for quite some time! The best thing is that I have video of the them shooting their second 50! Shelley was filmed dutching pairs and talking to himself while Pitts was planning the work and working the plan!
Charlie Keiger and Crews Walden showed up at Watauga and spread some lead on the bank. Not sure of just how well they shot but they looked like they were having a great time! I got some good shots of Crews and Charlie shooting but didn't manage to get any video!
All in all everybody had a great time and the Watauga Cartel would like to thank everybody that attended and to all that pitched in to help!
