99th Annual North Carolina State Trapshoot - Sunday
The 99th Annual North Carolina State Trapshoot is in the history books! George Sudderth won the doubles Sunday morning with the lone 96 and he did it in the gully on bank 2.
After a sound thrashing by JC Nunn in the singles Saturday, Rockingham County shooter Lewis Wyatt bounced back to claim the NC Handicap Championship with a 98 and a 24x25 in the shootoff against Charlie Brown.
Rockingham shooter Walter "Winky" Mabe took the caps Runner-Up with a 94 and a 25 in the shootoff with Gorgeous George Brown from Ft. Bragg.
There are a lot more details to discuss and we will try to cover it all in the smoke report for Monday morning!
99th Annual North Carolina State Trapshoot - Saturday
Another great weather day at the NC Homegrounds. Slightly overcast skies at times and wind blowing in different directions all day!
Lot's of red on the baord wtih two out of state 200's and three in state 199's that included Jimmy Wilson, George Sudderth and SubJr Addison Callan.
When the one round shootoff was over Addison won the singles title with Jimmy runner-up and George with AA.
I put up 177 pix Saturday night and a little too pooped to caption them at this time! Two more events to go and then it will be all over for another year!
99th Annual North Carolina State Trapshoot - Friday
Beautiful weather and great scores at the Homegrounds today! 100's in the singles - 97 in the caps and a 98 in the doubles were high scores of the day!
Attendance is looking good and we hope to get the score boards for all of the events from Friday! Heading to bed and looking forward to the singles in the morning!
99th Annual North Carolina State Trapshoot - Thursday
From what I am hearing the weather is great at the Homegrounds. Dave Daily called to let me know he broke a 98 in singles and JC Nunn had a 91. I really don't have any information to post at this time!
Bill Howe will be sending me the scores and we will get them posted as soon as possible. Also - I have posted a link to trapshooters.com that allows you to view the high-gun list and search for your friends scores as they are posted.
It also has a section that shows attendance and demographics which is interesting also. I noticed 1 California shooter and it turns out to be Chuck Patterson!
Check back a little bit later and we will post a note on the front page when we get the scores posted!
10:20PM - Lot's of 100's, 99's, 98's, 97's in the singles - Bill Howe won the caps with a 97 and Taylor Bolin from TN won the dubs with a 98. We will be on the grounds in the morning so look for pix Friday night!
99th Annual North Carolina State Trapshoot - Wednesday
Thanks to Bill Howe and his I-Phone for scores from the singles and the caps for Wednesday. Looks like there were several 100's in singles and it looks like there were several 95's broken in the caps. Hopefully we will get to add the doubles scores later tonight!
Looks like Bill Howe won the singles, Randy Inman won the caps and Bob Goodman won the doubles! I have posted all the scores and the winner boards for Wednesday just about 4PM Thursday!
I have also included a link to the trapshooters.com website that allows you to look at scores and demographics among other things!
