Watauga June 27th Report

Looking into the face of 90% rain in the forecast, we opened the gates and they came. We had a great turn out and saw a couple old friends roll in that we haven’t seen for a while. Billy Thigpen rolled in for a little shooting and his better half a lot of shopping. And Dennis Taylor came back after the May shoot really great to have them. And we were able to host them to some pretty nice shooting weather. Now it did rain and it rained every bit of the 90% but it held off to the last squad shooting their last 50 doubles. And guess who was the last squad, you got it. I’ve got the gun apart and in the living room drying out as I type.

Now on the shooting we had 29 shooters for the day and in our first event we had our own Steve Watson and Dennis Taylor lock horns with a score of 99. Then everything went to the youths of the club. Caleb Gilreath took top honors in handicap with a 95, and Noah Gouge took top honors in both the doubles event with scores of 97 and 96.
