“2014 Wing Fling”
Where to start, let’s see was it the damp weather, or maybe the great turn out, or it might have been the promise of chicken wings at the end of the day. Whatever the reason we had a great time on top of the mountains Saturday shooting. With the thought that the fog might burn off before ten we all took the line for a day’s shooting. But the fog hung in there and stayed with us most of the day, but that didn’t dampen the spirits and the shooting went on. We still had a great turn out and a great bunch of shooters showed up for fun and games on the mountains.
Yes this was the last ATA shoot for this year and that means Mr John Waters was going to treat us to his famous Chicken Wings Dinner. O’ and don’t let me forget the great food put on by Carolyn.
Now for the shooting:
In Singles we had two local boy lock horns with scores of 98, and Steve Watson took Campion by a flip over Noah Gouge. In Handicap David Miller took half yard punch with top honors with a score of 92. The Doubles I think everyone was waiting to show off because there were some great scores posted. But Dan Johnson took top honors by dropping only one bird for a score of 99. It took a 99 for Handicap Morgan Shaw and David Miller both came to the house hosting 97s, and this seemed to set the script for HOA. HOA was taken by David Miller posting a 285 out of 300.
