Rockingham County Gun Club "Red Dot Powder" Shoot

It was another absolutely beautiful day to shoot Trap in the State of North Carolina. I don’t believe I noticed one cloud in the sky today (over the club). The wind posed a few problems for a few shooters but all in all it was a good day!

First we would like to say thanks to all of the folks that attended and most were from the Buckhorn Gun Club. Thanks for shooting with us and thanks for your patience! We would like to say thanks to Jeri Wilson for scoring and to Jimmy Wilson for tweaking the PAT traps! Also thanks to Marty for scoring the doubles and getting into that scorers chair!

Also thanks to Tom Cox for getting all the stuff together and the BBQ sandwich lunch with baked beans was great! It is tough organizing and preparing when you are feeling good much less when you have a bug that he has been fighting for awhile!

Let’s get to talking about the shoot report. The competition was fierce with high scores broken in almost all classes of singles. Handicap there was only one score in the nineties. Doubles was a middle of the road score for the top spot.

Singles – Jimmy Wilson missed target number 5 on post 5 on his first trap. If JC hadn’t missed that bird in front of him he never would have missed that bird. Jeri Wilson took A, Marty Hill took B, John Woolsey took C, Natalia Johns took D, Lewis Wyatt took vet and JC Nunn took srvet.,P.

Handicap – Ike Branthwaite was breathing pretty hard after he broke the 2nd 25 on the hunt for the 800 buck middle 50 pot. When he stepped to my field the middle 50 dream pot ended when his first bird was called LOST. He did manage to keep it together to take the top spot in caps and got no yardage. Troy Miller took short, Lewis Wyatt won and actual honest to goodness shootoff for mid with John Woolsey, Jimmy Wilson took long, Natalia Johns took lady, Don Kaufman took vet and JC Nunn took srvet.

Doubles – Freddy Redmon took the top spot, Jimmy Wilson took AA, JC Nunn took B, Lewis Wyatt took D and Jeri Wilson took lady.
