October 14th Smoke Report
Posted: Sun Oct 13, 2024 10:11 pm
Greetings from the sunny and windy Avon North Carolina. I hope everyone had a great weekend and two shooting events last week including CCLEOA and Buckhorn.
Buckhorn shot Sunday and they had a good turnout. 20/20/13 stepped to the line and Mark Cox led all singles shooters with a 98. Greg Robinson and Jeff James led all handicap shooters with a 93 and a punch and Jeff led all doubles with an 88 and captured the HOA.
CCLEOA shot Friday and Ken Roe led all singles with a 48, Richard Evans won the caps with a 45 and Bill Cash won the doubles with a 35. The fall shoot schedule is back in swing and the next shoot is November 8th and the last shoot for 2024.
Morgan Shaw has informed me that the Annual Chicken Wing Fling will not happen this year due to the extensive damage at the club. Traps and trap houses were damaged, and the clubhouse was chest high in water. The target shed collapsed and the heavy scoring benches floated 250 yards from their original locations. Work is underway to clean up and rebuild and it will be a monumental task. Please pray for the Watauga Gun Club members and all of the people that are trying to recover from the devastation.
Ok that is about it for now and up at 5 in the AM to head to Cape Pointe drum fishing. All we caught is big blues and they are fun but not what we are looking for. Have a great week everybody and Morgan says it is supposed to snow in Boone Tuesday night. Hello to Scott, Ronnie, Cowboy, Tim, Bobby, Phil, Mac, John, Will, Mark, Art, Thea and Anne and until next week…….smokem
