I hope everyone enjoyed the snow this weekend. Not as much as they expected but the changeover to sleet didn’t help. Not much going on as far as registered trap is concerned with the next NC event the 23rd at Buckhorn.
If you are willing to venture out of state both Brushy Mountain VA and Spartanburg shoot the first Saturday every month. The Spartanburg shoot in January found David Smiley (NC) the singles winner with a 96, John Pendergrast the caps winner with an 80 and Joseph Oleary dubs winner with 86 and HOA with 259.
The North Carolina shoot calendar is filling in slowly but surely. Go to http://www.nctrap.com for the updated version that now includes Buckhorn events. Rockingham will post their dates as soon a date can be confirmed for their annual youth shoot. Traditionally it was held on the first Saturday of May, but the HOF/SC event will be held at that time.
Please remember Rockingham County Gun Clubs president Clem Ellis on Monday. His wife passed unexpectedly after a heart attack, and it has been rough on him and the family. He really puts in a lot of time and effort at RCGC and it is appreciated.
John Sandell is probably somewhere in Florida basking in the sun and eating honey bell oranges. Hopefully he will give us a shoot report for next week.
