Buckhorn Gun Club Easter Weekend Shoot 2009

Post by smokem »

A great group of shooters assembled for the Buckhorn Gun Club’s Easter weekend shoot. 14,000 registered targets were thrown over the two day period amidst breezy low light conditions. Only until the caps on Sunday afternoon did the wind settle down and the sun shine brightly.

Also a great group of BGC club members assembled to run the shoot and the list consists of: Jackie & Terry Roush, Charlie Brown, Donna Miller (ref both days and learned to score doubles and is easy on the eyes), Tom & Gail Kanas, Ann & Bill Morgan, Lovely Jeri Wilson, Bobby & Gail Page, Morris Carrol, Tim Crabtree, Auman & Chuck Woody, Sweet Lou Carter and Don Gray. Also, thanks to Marty Hill for the great ice cream that he prepared.

Ok, we will get going on the scores and will fill in the blanks where possible. Charlie Brown got the closest to that BIG MIDDLE 50 pot with a solid 49 on Saturday. Tom Kanas collected a rather healthy “daily middle 50” on Sunday. Addison Callan broke his 1st 25 and 1st 50 straight in registered competition on Sunday in the singles event. New to NC Martin Milano got his name on the board in several events and got a punch for his hi-gun caps score on Sunday morning. Clay Floyd posted a crazy 99 in the second doubles event late Saturday afternoon in WINDY conditions! Anyway, James Wilson was very happy with the weekend and would like to thank everybody for attending and working so hard to make this shoot a success!

Ok – I didn’t get the HOA info and we can get it later. Don’t forget that there are three shoots in NC this week. BGC 15th – Ft Bragg 18th and Rockingham 19th. Then we have the Dogwood at the Home Grounds April 23 – 26 with 1100 targets over the four days. Days are getting longer and the temps are getting warmer and before you know it we will be swatting sweat bees and rubbing on suntan lotion. Yep, the shooting season is upon us and I can’t wait to get out there and get to smokenem!
