Seven NC shooters attended the 86th annual Georgia State Shoot at South River Gun Club.
Charlie Brown
Jeff and Hunter Galloway
Bill Howe
Geo. Ponton
Billy Thigpen
Jerry Weaver
Charlie won the Open Veterans trophy in the Peach State Handicap on Friday
with a score of 97.
Jeff tied for Non-Resident Singles Champion on Saturday with a 199x200.
He let one to many disappear into the evening shadows during the shoot off with Bill Parson, so he settled for Class A.
Charlie tied for Non-Resident Veteran in the Singles Championship and let a couple
disappear into the darkening evening during the shoot off, so no trophy.
There were 189 shooters on Saturday.
Bill, Billy and George shot at all 1000 program targets thrown during the four days and received a thanks for entry fees paid.
Weather cooperated with low 80’s each day, there was usually wind in the afternoon.
The club has made numerous improvements to the grounds, which really enhanced the new club house of last year.
