Spring is here and the weather was beautiful for shooting at the Rock Lewis Class Shoot April 3rd 2010. Jim Bray came out of hibernation and Charley Rinehart drug Roland Whiteley out of VA for the day.
Three full squads stepped to the line for the singles and only two 49's were broken in the event. Don Kaufman and JC Nunn broke the 49's and they were in my squad. There were scores of 48's including yours truly, Chris Shoulars and Charley Rinehart.
Lunch was provided between the singles and caps and the food really hit the spot for sure. The wind started whipping around a bit and it would really come into play for the last handicap squad.
The caps cranked up and and there was a 46 broken by Lewis Wyatt and three 45's that were broken by JC Nunn, Ronnie Manuel and Chris Shoulars. Lewis Wyatt was on squad three and the wind was really pushing the targets down. Lewis needed a 47 to tie the eventual high score which turned out to be the old tailgunner JC Nunn.
Lewis gave it his best shot but just couldn't get the job done. Everybody had a great time and JC had been giving Tom Cox grief about putting him on the 22 yard line. Looks like JC will be shooting from the 23 the next time out..
