Buckhorn hosted a two-day trapshoot that ended the month of July and started the month of August with a bang bang. It looks like Remington rep Scott Hanes needed some doubles targets before the Grand so Jimmy cooked up a program that catered to his needs.
Saturday the king of the singles hill was local Morris Carroll with the lone 100. Tommy Brown missed the middle 50 pot by one on his way to the caps win with a 97 from the back fence. Greg High topped all doubles shooters in the 200 bird event with a 95.5 average equaling a 191. Not sure of who won the HOA and will try to get that posted soon.
Sunday Morris was at it again and posted one of two 99’s with the other 99 broken by Ike Branthawaite. Tommy Brown took caps with a 94 and Scott Hanes won the 200 bird doubles event with a 188. Tommy Brown took the HOA for the day.
We had some visitors from VA including Charlie Rinehart, Rick Plaumann and Steve Oman. Also visiting was Indiana shooter Ray Shisler that is relocating to the area.
Some standout shooting by Gail Page (99), Ike Branthwaite (two 99’s) and Tom Kanas with a 98 in the singles Sunday. Poor Tim Crabtree lost flips to a lady and a vet in the two singles events on Saturday and Sunday.
All in all it was a great time for all and thanks to everybody that attended the shoot. Also thanks to all that helped make the event run so smoothly.
