We dug into our archives to look back at the winners of the New Year Open in 2010.....

January trapshooting weather in North Carolina is just like a box of chocolates – you just never know what you are going to get. Looking into the archives the New Year Open in January 2009 was cooler and sunnier and less shooters participated. A good crowd showed up today at the Rock for some winter shooting and some great scores were recorded.

The morning started off cold and grey and then it brightened up just a bit and got warmer throughout the day. We ran three fields and everything went smoothly with lunch between the singles and caps. Hot dogs with the fixings and baked beans and peach cobbler made by Lee Ann!!!

Singles produced four 50 straights and one 75 straight. Handicap found three shooters knotted up with 89’s and doubles found one shooter in the 90’s. All in all everybody had a great time and I am sure folks will be back for our next shoot in February. Before we get to the scores we would like to thank everybody that showed up to shoot and everybody that helped.
