Coharie Shooting League Scores For 5/21/2011

Post by smokem »

The weather was great and the shooting fun at Coharie on May 21. We had 12 shooters participate. Marty Hill showed up but arthritis prevented him from shooting. But as we say in the South, “bless his heart” for scoring. Great scores were posted by relatively new shooters and we were glad to have Travis Alfrey accompany Marty from Aberdeen. Two brothers, Michael and Barry Graham, recently joined the Coharie club and have been shooting for only a few months. This was their second registered shoot and look at what they did!! Jerry Kinlaw is also a new member at Coharie and a converted skeet shooter and he too was posting his second competitive scores. Watch out if he converts from skeet to trap as well as our famous Greg High. We understand Greg was babysitting yesterday. Oh, the joys of being a grandfather absolutely outweigh the fun of shooting!! It was great to have Ron Sherwood and Joe Kusy join us in shooting again after some health issues. Ron has not shot in several years and Joe in several months and they both did well. On to the scores:

Singles: 12 shooters

Champ: Al Williams 98

AA: George Brown 87

A: Mac Herring 96

B: Craig Dunn 91

C: Barry Graham 97. This was only his second registered event.

D: Jerry Kinlaw 92. This bettered his previous score by 70 birds and he thanks George Brown for instruction.

Sr Vet: Al Mazza 87

Handicap: 12 Shooters

Champ: Barry Graham 20 yd 94. Can you believe this at his second shoot?

Short: Ron Sherwood 20 ½ yd 88. This was after several years layoff.

Mid: George Brown 23 yd 88

Long: Mac Herring 27 yd 89

Sr Vet: Al Mazza 21 ½ yd 80

Doubles: 4 shooters

Champ: Mac Herring 95

B: Al Williams 89

C: Michael Graham flip over brother Barry Graham 86

High Over All: Mac Herring 280 x 300

We enjoyed a great time and fellowship and a delicious lunch. Thank everyone for helping to score, load houses, and cleanup. Our next shoot is JUNE 18. Hope to see you then.
