Sunday started out like a normal sunny day with hot temps and mild winds. At 2PM the rain started, the thunder rolled and the line was cleared. Shooting was delayed for almost 1 hour before the 2nd caps event was finished.
Handicap 1st 100 - Three 96's were knotted for the top spot and the carryover on the 2nd 100 produced the winner. Ike Branthwaite was the eventual winner over Jimmy Wilson and Lane "Pot Buster" Murray. Jimmy won long, Tom Brown won intermediate, Chuck Woody won mid, Lane Murray won short, Jeri Wilson won lady, Charles Fagan II won subjr, Justin Young won jr and Tom Kanas won vet.
Lane Murray broke the middle 50 and split the cookie jar that was at $3245 dollars. He was using his "Elmo" handicap load (32 bushing/green dot), a Perazzi that Elmo sold him and some good training by Harlan Campbell. He shot with the "Chick" squad that included Ann Morgan, Gail "Beans" Page and Cary Branthwaite. He got a money punch and a half yard for his efforts and landed on the 22 yard line! I know he was tickled to death and even Hunter got some new toys with the spoils!
Singles - Two 100's tied for the top spot with Morris Carroll winning the flip with Don Kaufman. Chuck Patterson won AA, Chuck Woody won A, Ike Branthwaite won B, Gail "Beans" Page won D, Jackie Roush won lady, Gharles Fagan II won subjr, Justin Young won jr and Don Kaufman won vet.
Handicap 2nd 100 - Morris Carroll didn't break the highest score but won the event. Chuck Patterson won long, Tom Brown won intermediate, Chuck Woody won mid after a flip with Ike Branthwaite, Garth Sweredoski won short, Ann Morgan won lady, Charles Fagan II won subjr, Justin Young won jr and Don Kaufman won vet.
