Buckhorn held their monthly registered shoot under Carolina blue skies Sunday August 12th. There was a light headwind but that didn't seem to bother the shooters that showed up. A little bit of trapshooting history was made today at Buckhorn and it couldn't have happened to a nicer person.
Kevin Parrott whose brother won the Grand American Handicap last year did something special in the Tarheel state. He completed his "GRAND SLAM" which involves breaking 200 singles - 100 doubles and 100 handicap targets from the 27 yard line. All he needed was 100 straight in caps and it would be in the books. Kevin broke his 100 today at Buckhorn and Jim Wilson said his feet almost didn't touch the ground as Kevin came off the field to tell Jimmy.
Normally Kevin would be at the Grand but duty calls and being a doctor has big demands. Thanks Kevin for bringing a little bit of the Grand to Buckhorn Sunday August 12th, 2012. Oh - Kevin didn't play the middle 50 and missed about 500 bucks but I am sure the Grand Slam will suffice!
