Just a few more days to Christmas and I know everyone is rushing to get presents and planning the big meal for the family. Hopefully all of your shopping is done, and the pressure is off.
Danny Marbell let me know that Dick Grossman passed away recently. He was a member of the Durham County Wildlife Club until he moved back to Evanston Illinois. He registered 600 singles, 10400 handicap and 1600 doubles and shot his last round of handicap in 2014. His last registered targets in North Carolina were shot at Durham in 2012. Dick will surely be missed and was a very interesting individual. Please pray for his family at this time. https://www.evanstonfuneral.com/obituar ... d-Grossman
Also, John Sandell let me know that David Eggert passed away and he was a member of the Charlotte Rifle and Pistol Club. He was from Ohio originally and was a big fan of the Model 12 that he bought and sold. His last registered targets were shot at the NC Homegrounds in 2004 and he had 600 lifetime ATA registered targets. Please pray for the family at this time. https://www.palmettofuneralgroup.com/ob ... vid-Eggert
Not much going on as far as registered trap in North Carolina but South Carolina had a BIG50 shoot in Greenville. It looks like the weather was great and the event was well attended. These BIG50 events are pretty popular in SC and great to keep your game sharp without having to shoot 300 targets.
The NCTA has published a calendar for 2025 with some clubs not reporting dates yet. Hopefully they will get them on the calendar for future planning. Major Homeground dates are listed. And please make a note that the South Carolina State Shoot will be held simultaneously with the NC Hall of Fame in May of 2025. Noah Gouge and Brian Keever will be inducted Saturday night at the banquet.
Just one more smoke report before Christmas. Hopefully nobody else will pass before the 25th but they do say it comes in threes. Hello to Scott, Ronnie, Cowboy, Tim, Bobby, Phil, Mac, John, Will, Mark, Art, Thea and Anne and until next week…………..smokem
