Forever young JC Nunn put a whooping on the field today at the Rock Lewis Class Fun Shoot. He broke back to back 48's in singles and handicap to take the top honors in a field of 15 participants.
There were four 47's in the singles and they included Ronnie Manuel, Tommy Brown, Charley Rinehart and Van Fleming. There were a few 46's that included Freddy Redmon and Roland Whitely. We knew it would come down to the handicap but we had no way of knowing that JC would shut the door on us in the handicap event.
The only two shooters that were even close to JC was Roland Whitely with a 46 and Ronnie Manuel with a 45. Both fellows wound up breaking 92's which was the next highest score to JBird's stong 96.
JC took the high gun - Irving Earles and Freddy Redmon split the 2nd Lewis and David Simons took the 3rd Lewis. The picture that we took of the LC winners is a bit off with Dave holding up 2 fingers and Irving and I holding up 3 fingers.. Oh well!
I shot singles with JC and he was really on his game today and he was smoking the birds. With his nemesis out in Tuscon he better be glad he wasn't here to get a whooping handed to him also.
