It was hot but bearable at Coharie today. Mild breeze but the wind did not affect the targets. As usual, Ann Herring prepared a delicious lunch with fresh blueberry pie. Jerry Kinlaw shot his best ever handicap and tied Brian West with 95's. Unfortunately neither won yardage. Jerry shot a 49 on the mid 50 barely missing the big pot. He missed the 12th bird on the third field. I was scoring and really hated to say that ugly word "lost." Al Merlin had a new gun and shot his personal best ever. He was pleased and had a huge smile. Juniors Dane Westbrook and Cullen Hobbs shot very respectable scores. There was not enough interest to shoot doubles so HOA was based on singles and handicap and was taken by Jerry Kinlaw. We were glad to welcome back Jonathan Kacmarcik who last shot as a Junior in 2007 and now lives in Wilmington. We hope he will become a regular.
