Blue skies, comfortable temps and more wind than the weather man called for greeted a great crowd at Buckhorn today. The targets were sporty to say the least, but, the lunch was great as always with spaghetti as the main course with Karole's cupcakes AND until now, what was one of the best kept secrets in NC-Kevin Biss makes some of the best pies in the state. Today he provided a mouth watering apple pie that was the equal of the blueberry from the last shoot.
It was a great pleasure to have the Nuti's visit. Russell and Jennifer were here and shot with us. They brought soon-to-be 1 year old Tom with them. It was like old times having Russell in the number two slot, he can still roll them up pretty hard too! Jennifer hadn't shot in a number of years and proved she hasn't forgotten how! They are doing well in Georgia and Russell mentioned a possible showing in Bostic for the Zone in July.
With 33 shooters in singles, 27 in handicap and 19 for doubles made for a long day. Huge THANK YOU for all that scored, loaded traps, cooked, cleaned up, kept records and participated. Rumor has it that Mr. Wilson will reactivate trap 4! It's a great field to shoot on for those that remember and what an outstanding place to shoot doubles that would be!!
