NC Homegrounds
Hello to all and it is Monday the 6th of June and just a few days away from the North Carolina State trap shoot in Bostic NC. Folks have been preparing for a year to get their name in the record books and I know there will be some great scores broken at the North Carolina Homegrounds.
Francis Bruce
This info might be a little late but here goes. Pat Childers had mentioned that Francis Bruce was in failing health. He passed in his sleep and Pat sent me some info and a picture of Francis. I posted the picture and info in the finished careers section on the site. Back when I was on the board and squad hustling Mr. Bruce missed his squad and wasn’t really happy about the situation. I really don’t remember how I got his situation fixed but whatever it was he was grateful and always very happy to see me when he visited the homegrounds. Please remember his widow and his immediate family at this time.
Jason Holley and Lane Murray
Two shoots over the weekend and both at the Rockingham Gun Club. Saturday offered a typical 300 target program with 20/16/7 stepping to the line. It was hot and there was very little wind all day. Jeff Galloway broke the lone 98 with 4 97’s broken by Ronnie Manuel, Rance Boyd, Tom Brown and Chris Powell. Handicap was won by Jason Holley and he gained a ½ yard punch for his 94. Jeff Galloway led all doubles shooters with a 97 and the HOA with 98/92/97 for a 287x300 total. We had some Durham County folks slip up to shoot and we appreciate them shooting at the Rock.
Storm Moving In

Sunday the BIG50 shoot netted 10 participants with hot weather and a storm looming off to the Northwest. Jeff Galloway broke 50 in the singles and a 49 in the caps from the 27. I unfortunately was scoring and had to call that 1 bird lost. 5 folks decided to register 25 pair of doubles and Jeff broke a solid 49 and yes I had to call that bird lost also……David Slaydon won the 2nd Lewis paid and didn’t stick around to collect his money.
